School Library Journal

Gr 5-8 Haskins has produced a highly readable and entertaining perspective on break dancing which includes its history, profiles of some famous performers and descriptions of some break-dance steps. Clear and attractive color and black-and-white photographs are interspersed throughout this brief book whose format is akin to that of hi/lo books. Terry Dunnahoo's Break Dancing (Watts, 1985) provides more specific how-to information and precautions. However, these books supplement rather than compete with each other. A well-organized explanation of a popular subject. Helen E. Williams, University of Maryland, College Park
