Synopsis

The incorrigible Colin McNaughton sets sail with a hilarious high-seas, high-time adventure for every swashbuckling young matey. Ahoy!

CAPTAIN ABDUL'S PIRATE SCHOOL finds a reluctant pirate pupil stuck on a ship with Captain Abdul, a scary scoundrel with more missing pieces than a secondhand jigsaw puzzle. Will there be a mutiny? Or will this junior pirate end up having more fun than any kid could imagine?

Children's Literature

Pickles has been sent to Pirate School by a father who fears his child is "a big softie." Pickles meets the teaching staff (KahntheReallyNasty, WalkerthePlank) and fellow students. In a nice flight of fancy, these other sufferers include junior versions of later notables. After adjusting themselves to life among hammocks, the production of weaponry ("arts and crafts" class) and how to speak Pirate, Pickles overhears his teachers; they are planning to kidnap and hold their students for ransom! Pickles masterminds a mutiny and the kids sail off to happiness in the West Indies. The tongue-in-cheek humor is set off by slapstick illustrations-and a surprise ending.
