Interesting facts about our feline friends accompany every letter of the alphabet in this photographed-filled book. Learning letters will happen effortlessly as the reader investigates every page and collects information about cats. Each page is dedicated to a letter of the alphabet as well as a fact about cats. As the reader sees both the capital and lower case "E" highlighted on the page, he or she will learn that the letter stands for eyes and a cat can see well both day and night. As the page for "W" is explored, the reader will learn that the letter stands for whiskers and cats rely on these for navigating tight places. There is a pattern of words to introduce each letter and fact on the page. Teachers can springboard from these sentences and provide creative writing opportunities for student-authored books using the same pattern. Although the cat facts are entertaining, the real pleasure comes from the photographs. Readers will delight in the different breeds of cats presented as well as their many activities. Favorites are sure to include the cat staring at the goldfish bowl and the cat's eyes barely noticeable behind the unsuspecting mouse.
