KLIATT
Joan Lowery Nixon and her daughter Kathleen Brush have written this series of mysteries for the younger set. In the first one, Stacy Champagne is summoned back to her family's hotel in Silver Ridge, Colorado by her grandmother. When a murder occurs in the hotel, Stacy helps solve it, along with her soon-to-be fiancé, Ramon Gonzales, a deputy. She then becomes Chief of Security for the hotel. In the second book, a group of mystery writers come to the hotel for an annual meeting and one gets killed because he is blackmailing the others. In the third, Stacy deals with another murder in the hotel and threats to her grandmother. She solves this one with the help of Ramon and manages to save the hotel's reputation one more time. These mysteries are short, with few complications, and may be a good idea for the reluctant reader.
