Overview
Lauren Cross is the first female player on a WHL team—goaltender Joseph Larken's team, the Spokane Chiefs. For Joseph, the prospect of a season in the publicity shadow of a new female goalie promises to be a nightmare. Hiding behind a carefully built wall of anger, Joseph is relieved when a scandal knocks Lauren off the team until he begins to believe she was framed.
Joseph "Gump" Larken, goalie for the Spokane Chiefs, is not bothered by playing second string to the first woman in the Western Hockey League, but he is not certain how to handle the accusation that his closest friend on the team might be involved with illegal steroids.
Synopsis
Lauren Cross joins the Spokane Chiefs to become the first female player on a WHL team. For Chiefs goaltender Joseph Larken, the prospect of a season in the publicity shadow of the new goalie promises to be a nightmare. Hiding behind a carefully built wall of anger, Joseph is almost relieved by the steroids scandal that knocks Lauren off the team...until he begins to believe she was framed. The truth makes him wish he were some place saferlike in the net facing a 110 mph slap shot.
