This title explains the body's circulatory system by addressing the following questions: What happens to the food you swallow? What does each type of food do for your body? What happens when you vomit? What does it look like inside the digestive system? Readers are supported throughout the book by consistently placed headings, subheadings, and content. Other supports include features like "Fascinating Fact" text boxes that highlight surprising and true tidbits related to the circulatory system. The last page contains directions for a hands-on activity entitled "Make a Stethoscope," which gives readers the opportunity to engage in a scientific investigation and listen to their own hearts. Additional features include a glossary and an index, both useful tools and standard to most informational texts.
