Overview

Beginning with Shiloh, Lookout Mountain, Chickamauga, and Stones River and ending with the terrible carnage that was Franklin, this descriptive history revisits the battles that occurred in the Volunteer State during the Civil War.

Tennessee soldiers, called "Butternuts" because of the tan color of their uniforms during the War Between the States, fought for their beliefs and were witness to tremendous violence and bloodshed. Without their patriotic efforts, the country would be much different from what it is today.
