About the Author, Steve Cottrell

Steve Cottrell is a resident of Carthage, Missouri, and a descendant of a cavalry member who served during the Civil War. He has participated in several battle reenactments, including the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Glory . Cottrell is co-author of Civil War in the Ozarks (pb) and author of Civil War in the Indian Territory (pb) and Civil War in Texas and New Mexico Territory, all published by Pelican.

Andy Thomas, also a resident of Carthage, Missouri, illustrated Civil War in the Indian Territory and Civil War in Texas and New Mexico Territory . Maze Creek Studio in Carthage showcases his artwork.
