Children's Literature -
In a simple story Emily Elizabeth recounts a day with Clifford, her best friend. The big red dog and Emily eat breakfast together (although given the amount of food the Big Red Dog eats, I wonder how the family can afford to keep him as a pet), and then he gives Emily a ride to school on his back. Emily enjoys a typical day at school, and after completing her homework, she and her friends have a chance to play with Clifford. He makes a few mistakes like pulling up a tree instead of fetching a stick and snagging an alien spacecraft instead of a Frisbee. It is a day that ends with both of them going to sleep and Emily Elizabeth having sweet dreams about her good friend Clifford. The art work is a strange combination. Emily Elizabeth has a retro look, with her button eyes sort of like a Raggedy Ann and her outfit, but the use of a computer to do her homework makes the setting more contemporary.
