Children's Literature -
These days, kids hear a great deal about global warming and greenhouse gases. This book gives simple and clear answers to some of the questions they may have. It will help them to understand more clearly the meanings of these and other terms related to global environmental problems. The differences between natural climate change and human made change are examined, and suggestions for ways that kids can make a difference in a positive manner are offered. Some of the alternatives to fossil fuels are mentioned, but the questions arising about their use are not considered. The book is part of the "Saving Our World." It is illustrated with photographs taken in a variety of places around the world. The main text is accompanied by "Eye-Openers," or sidebars highlighting specific facts, some of which are unusual or little known. "Question Time" boxes also appear throughout the book. Suggestions for further reading are provided. Reviewer: Carolyn Mott FordBook Details
