Synopsis
This resource for veterinarians uses the scientific method to examine a variety of complementary and alternative veterinary medicine (CAVM) therapies. Some of the therapies discussed include acupuncture, energy medicine, chiropractic, electromagnetic therapy, homeopathy, and herbal therapy. Coverage extends to the ethical and regulatory considerations concerning such therapies. A member of the AVMA's task force on CAVM, Ramey has been in private equine practice since 1984.
