Hand tools and power tools are featured in this text from the six-book set called "Construction Zone." The text has short descriptions of some of the tools that the construction crew members use. Throughout this nonfiction book, there are full-page, color photographs that show close-up shots of the tools. The snapshots generally support the text but young readers may need additional help with the content-specific vocabulary used in the written text. Besides the construction tools, there is a short section on safety with a photograph of a welder wearing a mask, heavy apron and protective gloves. Some of the safety gear mentioned in this section is not represented in the layout's photograph and may require additional resources to illustrate its usage in construction work. This informational text features a table of contents, index and glossary. For younger students, the glossary may be more helpful if the pictures of the tools were included with the description.
