About the Author, Karen Stickels

Author Karen Stickels spent 20 years in the hearth industry as a technical consultant for the nation’s largest chimney supply wholesaler, which also manufactures chimney liners. She advised installers, wrote installation instructions, managed her company’s Underwriters Laboratories listings, and was part of an editing team for two hearth-related educational manuals. She currently works in the marketing department at Harper Brush Works, Inc., and spends time with her husband, Vic, and her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Scott, and grandson Skye at her Iowa home.
