Overview
Doc Savage returns from his Fortress of Solitude to discovers the cold corpse of King Kong lying on the cracked sidewalk of his skyscraper headquarters. He tells his stunned men, “I know this creature.” Tasked to dispose of the remains, the Man of Bronze relates the previously untold story of how Doc and his father once embarked on a quest for Doc’s missing grandfather, the legendary mariner Stormalong Savage, and discovered Skull Island, a savage wonderland ruled by the monarch or all monsters--King Kong!Editorials

It may sound impossible, but Will Murray has given the world the first truly literary Doc Savage novel....This is far more than the best adventure novel I have read in years; rather, it is the best novel of any kind that I have read in years.Amazon.com -

Will Murray takes our expectations and delivers upon them while still striking off on his own path, assembling a story that will please both Savage and Kong aficionados and remind us all just how cool pulp can be. theres heart and soul here..and I for one can't quite see how Murray will manage to to this one...but i know he will, somehowAmazon.com

And let's not forget the addition of Kong, lord of Skull Island!Amazon.com

Doc and his father, who have a somewhat volatile relationship throughout the book, are seeking Doc's grandfather, Stormalong Savage. His abandoned ship is discovered sans masts, adrift in the Indian Ocean. A map hidden in a secret place has been water damaged, but one feature shows clearly: a skull shaped mountain...Book Details
