Many cultures believe that the world in its earliest days was controlled by dragons. Natural disasters could all be blamed on the dragons. When disease or disaster struck, it was because the dragons were on the loose and able to do as they chose. Gods and heroes would rise to power or be diminished in power by their ability to capture or kill the dragons. Young readers will be fascinated by the pictures of ancient dragons. An index and glossary are included. The brevity of information included in each title make them appropriate for reluctant readers.
