I remember this song and learned it without much thought as to its originβa traditional African American spiritual. It was more a lesson in learning body parts which are identified on the opening spread. Subsequent pages show the bones through die cut holes until the flesh and blood boy becomes a boney skeleton just like the ones dancing around on the left hand pages. The final pages provide the scientific names for the bones and the complete text of the song. On the back cover there is music to accompany the song. An easy lesson about the body with a bit of music and fun thrown in. Part of the "Classic Books with Holes" series. Reviewer: Marilyn CourtotBook Details
