Description: This book provides a concise approach to the evaluation and treatment of facial fractures. It is well organized and provides clear examples of the techniques explored.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a principle-oriented approach to facial fractures, both philosophically and clinically. Topics are well organized and well presented. This book clearly meets its objectives given the level of the audience intended.
Audience: Although not precisely stated, the book seems to have been intended for residents and young attendings with a limited experience in facial trauma. The authors are clearly experts in their field and quite credible.
Features: Illustrations are black-and-white, well conceived and well presented with excellent substantiation by clinical and CT images. They clearly make the point. The principle-based approach makes this book unique.
Assessment: This is a concise, straightforward book that could only have been written by someone with considerable experience and knowledge. It is an excellent book for the intended audience.
