Overview

Fat Joe has been around almost since the beginning of hip-hop. He may not have sold the most albums, but he's lasted longer than many in the very competitive music world. He's never adopted a more pop sound to become more commercial. That's one of the things his many fans love about him.

In Fat Joe, the author tells how this Latino artist found success in hip-hop. It wasn't a smooth path, and Fat Joe has had many difficulties along the way. From the death of his good friend and collaborator Big Pun to his own problems with legal matters, Fat Joe has often been at the center of controversy. Fat Joe-man and artist-can't be defined just by those issues, however.
