Financial Advisor is one of the books included in a series called "Careers with Character." The book starts out with an introduction by educational consultants, who explain the importance of knowing who you are when choosing a career, hence the series title, Careers with Character. The nine chapters deal with different topics such as Job Requirements, Integrity and Trustworthiness, Respect and Compassion, Responsibility, and Career Opportunities. Author Bonnice has written this book in a lively, interesting style, using role models to show how individuals in the financial field handled decisions, developed leadership skills, and took responsibility for their decisions. Along the way, there are many sidebars such as The Financial Planning Process, A Framework for Ethical Decision Making, America's First Financial Advisor and more. One of the examples shows how a financial planner named Suze Orman learned at an early age how to manage money when her father's restaurant burned to the ground and there was no fire insurance. Her father struggled to open another deli, but it was difficult. This life experience showed Orman that she had to plan and handle her own finances and business decisions carefully. In 1995, she wrote her first book called You've Earned it, Don't Lose It. Her next book was The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom. The examples and practical information offered in this career book encourage readers to carefully evaluate their own skills and characteristic traits when deciding on a career. Illustrations are in color and black and white. A list of books to read, a glossary and web sites are also included. 2003, Mason Crest Publishers,
