Gr 2-4Each of these attractive series titles provides a basic positive overview of a different career with no mention of any dangers or downsides. In Firefighters, readers go along with a group of firefighters on a seemingly typical call to a blazing house where they also rescue a pet cat. In Veterinarians, Greene focuses primarily on the care of cats and dogs but also talks about parrots, an opossum (misspelled in the text), and a baby otter. Medical procedures are pictured as lots of bandaging and preventive or fix-it shots. Pilots features interchangeable female and male pilots going through a typical day of flight preparation and execution. Minimal text and two large color photographs appear on each double-page spread. The pictures are of average-to-good quality and are generally related to the accompanying text.Rosie Peasley, Empire Union School District, Modesto, CA
