Overview
Based on a past multi-media installation by Alÿs The Last Clown, tells the story of an unplanned meeting between a stroller and dog. While exploring randomness, Francis Alÿs reflects on the role of laughter and trickery in the creative process as well as on the multiple territories occupied by the artist. His work is at once enigmatic and ironic, grave and light. By way of the several forms in the artistic process, he also explores the role of the artist and looks at the parameters that could define an artistic practice of today. Essay by Michèle Thériault. Written in English and French, also includes numerous b&w and color reproductions.Book Details
