Children's Literature

The life George W. Bush is chronicled from his childhood in Texas and his mediocre school accomplishments to his success as a businessman, and his careful and calculated rise in politics from Governor of Texas to a nation's highest office. Almost one-half of the book focuses on the Presidential Campaign of 2000 and all of its controversy and intrigue. It is highly complimentary of the President and notes his high approval rating and leadership following September 11, 2001. The photos run the gamut from casual boyhood days to the more slick and polished media photo-op type. Young readers will be able to get a concise picture of Mr. Bush's first year in office and have a clear understanding of a most complicated election. With his first term yet to be completed and another campaign inevitable, this can only serve as stopgap entry until the time when a full perspective can be given on Bush's place in American history. 2003, KidHaven Press,
