About the Author, Mike W. Peng

Mike W. Peng is the Provost's Distinguished Professor of Global Business Strategy at the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to this position, he served as associate professor at the Fisher School of Business at the Ohio State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington. Dr. Peng has authored three books, including GLOBAL STRATEGY (South-Western) as well as more than fifty scholarly articles. He has served on the editorial boards of leading journals, such as the ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT JOURNAL, JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS STUDIES, and STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT JOURNAL. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the ASIA PACIFIC JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT. Truly global in scope, Dr. Peng's research focuses on global business and firm strategies in regions throughout Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the United States. His influential work has been quoted by the UN, The World Bank, and NEWSWEEK and funded by the (U.S.) National Science Foundation, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and Chinese Natural Science Foundation. Dr. Peng is an active faculty trainer and has consulted for organizations, including BankOne, Berlitz International, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI, Nationwide Insurance, SAFRAN, and The US-China Business Council.
