About the Author, Barbara Parker

Barbara Parker spent most of her teen years in Vietnam, returning to the US to earn a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature. She later was a grant writer and a business owner before returning to university to earn an MBA and Ph D in strategy from the University of Colorodo. As a professor in the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University she taught globalization and international management. In addition to globalization, she conducts research on cross-sector partnerships, strategic management of diversity, joint venture management, and student learning outcomes. Her research has appeared in books and journals including Human Relations, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, Handbook of Organization Studies, Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning, Global Business, Management International Review, Sex Roles, Research in Higher Education, and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly. She is the author of three books: Nonsexist Curriculum Development: Theory into Practice, Globalization and business practices: Managing across boundaries (1996), and Introduction to globalization and business: Relationships and responsibilities (2005).
