From Barnes & Noble

Hundreds of ghost towns spot the American West. But who lived in them? Why did they fail? Why do they intrigue us so? Western historian Teresa Jordan answers these questions in a fascinating, succinct book. Utah native Tom Till contributes 130 wonderfully evocative color photographs of these windblown towns. Looking at them, one can almost hear the sound of poker chips falling in the old Main Street saloon.
