Overview

James Cameron — the clan chief. Hounded by debt and scandal, he heads for the vast wilderness of Upper Canada. There he amasses a fortune that will bless future generations, but leaves a bitter memory that will curse them.

Hugh MacCrimmon — his brave act of defiance makes emigration his only option. In America he will become a legend — and the founding father of a dynasty forever haunted by the shadows of the past.

Angus Ross — victim of a tragedy, transported to the convict colony of Australia, he is left with nothing but his pride. But his family will be left with an empire — and a lust for revenge on the family that blackened their name.

For over a hundred years, these families will help carve empires, create civilisation out of chaos, and fight for their countries. Their paths will cross again: in passion, in hatred, in combat — and in their irresistible urge to claim their cherished heritage.
