Library Journal

Numerous diet books are available for arthritics, but this appears to be one of the best and most comprehensive. Aesoph, a naturopathic physician and medical writer who has written many articles on this topic, covers both traditional and alternative resources. She gives natural dietary information that may reverse and certainly improve many cases of arthritis as well as other auto-immune diseases. Much of her material is not new, but it is refreshingly presented and useful to have compiled in one place. Aesoph discusses "restorative" foods as well as "stressor" food to avoid. She also explains food allergies, outlining simple methods to test for them, and gives medical references for her information. A better purchase than Philip Welsh and Leonardo Bianca's Freedom from Arthritis Through Nutrition (LJ 9/15/92), Aesoph's book is highly recommended for all health collections.
