From Barnes & Noble

The Barnes & Noble Review
If you’re following the path that so many web developers are following -- toward increasingly dynamic and code-intensive sites that utilize XML and other advanced technologies -- Inside Dreamweaver MX will be a very welcome companion. If you’re upgrading to Dreamweaver MX, you’ll find plenty of coverage of what’s new, including a handy up-front chapter that summarizes all the changes. If you like hands-on exercises, they’re here (but you can skip them without missing the point). And if you’re new to Dreamweaver altogether, this book will accommodate you just fine. (But be warned: It’s not the book to choose if you want to stay a beginner!)

The coverage of Dreamweaver page layout focuses not on “mere” features but on creating attractive, functional, well-structured designs that work wherever they’re displayed. We especially liked the book’s full section on working with dynamic data (using features that were formerly the province of Dreamweaver Ultradev). You’ll find chapters on creating dynamic web sites with every major technology Dreamweaver MX supports -- Microsoft’s ASP and ASP.NET; Sun’s JavaServer Pages, Macromedia’s own ColdFusion; even PHP. Interactivity, multimedia, and Dreamweaver’s upgraded site-management tools all receive careful attention. Highly recommended. Bill Camarda
