IM'97 sought to integrate the converging worlds of computer networks and telecommunications systems. The proceedings contain 56 selected submissions in three main tracks, abstracts of the keynote addresses presented by leading visionaries of integrated systems management, descriptions of six panel sessions, and abstracts of papers presented as posters. Track I spans new approaches to customer network management, Web and Java approaches, TMN, interoperability standards, and management paradigms. In Track II, focus is on broadband network management, service management, management of ATM networks, multimedia services/policies, and the management information base. The final track covers COBRA-based management, network monitoring policies, fault management, information models, and intelligent agents. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
