K-Gr 3-- Fuzzy little vitamin-people with googly eyes and huge, colorfully slippered feet romp across the pages of this book. The rhyming text tells the function and importance of vitamins A through E, as well as the sources of each. The text is straightforward, and only occasionally suffers from the imposition of rhyme on the information being relayed. The inclusion of terms such as nerve cells, organs, and whole grains may require explanation for youngest readers, but the colorful pictures, a cross between Peter Max and Rainbow Brite, will appeal to them. An ``Index'' at the end consists of a table listing each vitamin and its various sources; it has no page numbers. The main drawback here is the overall cutesiness. --Joyce Adams Burner, formerly at Spring Hill Middle School, KS
