A smiling young girls looks out from the cover holding a scary jack-o'lantern in her hand. We join her as she prepares for Halloween. Her mother carves the pumpkins and her dad helps her put on her costume. She is going to be a clown this year with a bright colorful wig and big red shoes. Her makeup includes a big red nose to match her red, red cheeks. As evening darkens, she joins her friends as they all go around the neighborhood seeking treats. A simple story about this popular holiday, illustrated with engaging photographs. The early reader is structured like an adult book with a table of contents, word list with pronunciation guide and definitions and references to books and a web site.
