Overview
Literature for All is aimed at teachers and speech and language therapists working with pupils with moderate, severe or profound learning disabilities and language difficulties. It offers an inclusive framework for the differentiation of literature within the context of the National Curriculum, across all levels of ability. The starting point is that understanding of stories and poetry grows from emotional involvement, with critical analysis and evaluation emerging subsequently. Imaginative and inspiring examples of what can be achieved in the classroom are drawn from the experience of practising teachers and therapists. These contribute to the planning and delivery of the curriculum and an assessment model explores the concept of progression in pupils' emotional, cognitive and aesthetic responses to literature.Book Details
