Children's Literature
This adorable alphabet adventure follows Little Bitty Mousie's nighttime escapade throughout the house. "Tip-tip tippy tippy/Went her little mousie/toes. Sniff-sniff sniffy sniffy/Went her little mousie nose," as she encounters various foods, among them, "carrot, which she didn't think was great" and other household objects until the sound of "Z-ing" leads her to a sleeping housecat that sends her skittering home. The alphabetical rhyming romp is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Mousie's explorations are amusing and childlike as she works her way from A to Z. Illustrator Hague more than lives up to his reputation; his pictures, drawn in ink and colored in Photoshop, are outstanding. Pictures that nearly jump off the page are the perfect accompaniment to Mousie's wonderful evening frolic. This book would be an excellent addition for all collections. Reviewer: Sharon Oliver
