Synopsis

"Little Bunny, a.k.a. LB, will be entering preschool when summer's over. His father gives him a calendar so he can cross off the days until school begins. LB is apprehensive about the new experience and becomes even more so when his cousin Maxine lets him know what she thinks of school. LB tries to slow down the summer's passing, but it flies by quickly and the big day arrives. Begrudgingly accepting the inevitable, the little bunny gets assurances from his parents that they will always come back for him, and he settles in, making a new friend" ("School Library Journal"). Full color.

Children's Literature

Little Bunny is getting very excited to start preschool. He and his papa mark off the days on their calendar, and we spend the summer with them doing this. We celebrate the Fourth of July, Little Bunny's August birthday, and spend time doing ordinary summertime activities. The first day at school proves to be slightly unnerving, and Little Bunny is frightened that his mama and papa won't come back for him. But, of course, Little Bunny loves his teacher, makes lots of friends, and altogether has a wonderful day. A good read for the end of the summer, or for the beginning preschooler.
