Los latidos de Yago

This moving account based on a true story chronicles the friendship between a snail and a small child in a wheelchair and explores issues concerning physical disabilities. A small snail in a shell winds up hanging on a chord around Yago’s neck. Realizing that Yago cannot speak, the snail learns to analyze the different sounds of the child’s heartbeat and finds a renewed interest in life. This touching story teaches children to accept differences and deal with diversity.

Este relato conmovedor basado en una historia verdadera describe la amistad entre una caracola y un pequeño en una silla de ruedas y explora las cuestiones relativas a la discapacidad física. Conchita Miranda is an author and the mother of Yago, a child with cerebral palsy. She is the founder and vice president of La Fundación Sobre Ruedas (The Foundation on Wheels), which supports children with cerebral palsy. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the foundation. Monica Carretero is an award-winning illustrator and the author of numerous books, including Candela: Misión Zeta and El gato con botas.
