Love Me Before The Dawn How To Love A Black Woman is a relationship guidance book directed primarily at black men. It seeks to help black men to become more aware of, and give more consideration to, their responsibility for the relationships they build with black women. It attempts to get them to focus on fulfilling that responsibility in order to make for successful, loving relationships. The book puts emphasis on the need for black men to work on their attitudes, beliefs and behavior patterns as the first step in building better relationships.

The book challenges those conventions and beliefs that is the basis on which men and women have built relationships in the past. It does not seek to criticize or apportion blame for the state of black male/female relationships (which is seen as a cause for concern) but tries to offer constructive and practical advice on how to avoid the pitfalls that lead to the failure of many of our relationships. One of its aims is to provoke new thinking and new approaches to relationship building.
