School Library Journal

Gr 5-8-Beginning with King's "I have a dream" speech in 1963, this biography tells the man's life story in a straightforward and standard manner. The writing is uninspired, the black-and-white photographs are adequate, and the content has been covered before in numerous other sources for young people. However, there is enough attention to detail and inclusion of research from the many museums and historical sites that have been established for students to find this book useful in studying the man and his role in the modern civil rights movement.-Janet Woodward, Franklin High School, Seattle, WA
