Overview

Maya Lin is a highly praised artist and architect. When she was only 21, her design for the Vietnam War Memorial was chosen among thousands of entries in a contest. Her other famous works include the Civil Rights Memorial, Eclipsed Time, Women's Table at Yale, Groundswell, and Wave Field. Ms. Lin is also dedicated to conserving the environment. This is reflected in many of her works in which she has used recycled materials.

Describes the life and work of the Chinese-American architect who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and the Civil Rights Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama.
