Overview

Michael Strogoff, a courier of the Russian Czar, is sent on a perilous mission to deliver a vital message to the Grand Duke, defending Siberia against a Tartar attack. But when Michael is captured and blinded, all appears to be lost. French playwright Adolphe d'Ennery has adapted Jules Verne's classic novel of suspense, and Frank J. Morlock has once again translated this wonderful work into modern English.

While in the service of Alexander II, Michael Strogoff faces almost insurmountable obstacles as he carries a message from Moscow to Irkutsk during the time of a Tatar rebellion.

Synopsis

In this 1876 "Mission Impossible"-like tale of intrigue set in Russia, Feofar-Khan is preparing to invade Siberia and foment a rebellion, and only one of the Czar's couriers is qualified to handle the arduous mission to warn the Siberian Governor-General of the impending invasion: Michael Strogoff.
