Children's Literature
Children love to learn the names of things and this little book will be fun to share with them. Children who are already Spanish-speaking will have no trouble learning about animals on the farm, in the jungle, in the garden, in hot climates and cold, pets, and dinosaurs from long ago. Each page has questions or comments relating to the featured animals. These questions will lead to more discussion between parent and child or teacher and child about the animals. The last page has a group saying "Goodbye" in various animal "languages." Children learning Spanish as a second language will also enjoy this book, although a pronunciation guide would have been helpful. The cut-paper artwork is colorful and playful, showing animals frolicking in their typical environments. 2000 (orig. 1997), Two-Can Publishing, . Ages 4 to 7. Reviewer: Marianne MitchellBook Details
