Synopsis

This delightful new board book by veteran author-illustrator Kate Spohn has full-page gatefold flaps throughout–just the right size for baby’s little fingers to open encouraging, easy interaction flaps. Baby-friendly words (giggle! bubble! flower!) and rhyming, rhythmic text are unpredict-able and fun to read. Add this to stylish but adorable art that shows just how cool not only baby is, but mommy too, and you have a board book that mommies will want to read over and over–and get for all their friends!

Children's Literature

What a collection of chic, hip mommies! All having fun with their babies—watering flowers, shopping for shoes, shoveling snow, playing in the leaves, blowing bubbles, and sharing book time! Full-page gatefold flaps open to show baby-friendly fun and words. Soft colors and childlike drawings filled with whimsy fill the uncluttered pages. Silly words and fun shapes provide entertainment and learning; Each mommy reader and her baby will laugh together as they celebrate the many sides of Mommies. The flaps should be easy for little fingers to grab, providing many opportunities for interaction as they uncover the words and actions beneath. Reviewer: Peg Glisson

She is happy to live in New York City, where good friends, good music, good cupcakes, and good fashion are only a couple of blocks away.
