Overview
The new Moving and Learning Series is a complete movement program of lessons and music for children ages birth to nine. It includes developmentally appropriate activities with movement suggestions, as well as problem-solving challenges to encourage children to respond to creatively.
Synopsis
Revised edition of an education program intended for use with children ages seven to nine years old. The five categories include quiet activities for openers and closers, basic movement, cooperative activities, educational gymnastics, and rhythm and dance. Rae (moving and learning, U. of New Hampshire) gives the teacher the option of picking and choosing from among the sections to create a lesson plan, or using the activities within each section to address the specific unit being covered. Each activity includes suggestions for further exploration. The included CD-ROM and cassette contain 28 selections of original instrumental music written specifically for the relevant activities.
