This book contains material regarding common disorders due to head, spine, and peripheral nerve injury. At the same time, it describes less common, but important in the practice of neurology, sequelae of trauma such as reflex sympathetic dystrophy and post-traumatic movement disorders. The author tries to evoke the fresh interest and to change the routine attitude toward the diagnosis and treatment of trauma-associated neurological disorders. He believes that his book can help to place these disorders in the mainstream of neurologic research. The primary audience of this book are neurologists, but it may also be interesting for neurosurgeons, specialists in physical and occupational medicine, orthopedics, emergency medicine physicians, and neuropsychiatrists. The illustrations and the CT and MRI scans are useful and pertinent. The book provides concise information regarding new and complex data on a subject matter in need of such explanation. As a neurologist I find this book extremely useful. It may be used as a guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of not only life threatening neurological sequelae of head and spine injury, but also of less severe but extremely common post-traumatic complications such as post-concussion syndrome or whiplash injuries. I think that the last three chapters, on medicolegal aspects of post-traumatic disorders of the nervous system, are extremely helpful, especially for young neurologists who don't have enough experience. I would highly recommend the purchase of this book by medical libraries, bookstores, and physicians.
