Gr 3-5-- An attractive companion volume to Kitchen Fun (Little, 1989). Here they present about 25 ideas for art projects, games, family activities, and science fun. The clear instructions are both written and pictorial, and a list of necessary ingredients heads each activity. Brief but interesting facts related to the project appear in sidebars on every other page, with some further explanations at the back of the book. It is a slim package, yet it's surprising how much fun is packed into so few pages. Although it doesn't include as many ideas as Jeri Robinson's Activities for Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere (Little, 1983), its bright appearance should make children (and adults) pick it up without much encouragement. Full-color photographs and good quality drawings appear throughout the book. A lively and appealing collection of things to do outdoors. --Amy Adler, Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, OH
