Gr 5-8-These series titles consider each artist in the context of the era in which he lived. Following a quick introduction to the man's creative achievements, each book covers aspects of his life and career in two-page spreads. The well-captioned visuals include photos, maps, and reproductions of artwork by the artist or other painters that served as inspiration. A time line at the bottom of alternating pages takes readers through key dates, while sidebars and occasional spreads provide historical background. Undocumented quotes appear throughout the books.
