The animals are playing a game with the readers. The piggie has its eyes covered and when the large, almost full page-size, flap is lifted, kids see mama and her piglet. The same pattern continues with a variety of farm animals—calf, lamb, chick, kitten, puppy, and donkey. Each animal is set out on a crisp white page and tends to be a bit stylized, but when the flap is lifted the animal and its mother are easily recognized.
