About the Author, Matt Sherman

Matt Sherman directs the University of Florida's Pool League in America's best-appointed student poolroom at the J. Wayne Reitz Union in Gainesville, Florida, with its nearly 20 nine-foot regulation pool tables. The league builds students into champions for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) annual tournaments. Half-a-dozen Florida Gators have won ACUI's top crown, each surpassing thousands of entrants as national champ. Sherman has taught hundreds of pool students the fundamentals and more advanced skills, and has won the UF crown many times as the best player among 65,000 UF students and employees. He is the Pool & Billiards Guide at About.com, a top five website with more than half-a-billion unique users annually. As an emcee and fan convention producer, Sherman has hosted events featuring over 120 Hollywood actors, authors, producers and screenwriters. He resides in Gainesville, Florida, where he studied Computer Sciences at Santa Fe Community College and Religion at the University of Florida, and where the local shark pool includes top hustlers, and greats named to pool's Hall of Fame. Matt's spouse, Janine, and his children, Alexandria and Benjamin, have followed him to the pool tables.
