Presence Passing

A visual exploration of decay, impermanence, and loss, manifest in structures and objects that are left behind, the spirit of this collection is one of evocation, inviting us to conjure meanings from the images, to wonder what each of us will leave behind, as presence passes and absence overtakes.

An unsentimental photographic elegy to what is left behind in the wake of relentless change—structures and objects, mute signs and symbols, fragments that suggest stories and dramas, a visual homage to order and entropy, presence and absence, the light and dark sides of our transient existence.

Andrea Baldeck is a musician, physician, and photographer. Her photographs have been exhibited widely and are part of the permanent collections of major museums.
