Synopsis

Welcome

Mudge!

Welcome Mudge!

Mudge is Henry's puppy.

Mudge is cute.

Mudge is snuggly.

Mudge also has a BIG appetite!

With a hungry pup on his hands, will Henry get ANYTHING to eat?

Marilyn Courtot - Children's Literature

Mudge is one big puppy and he also has a big appetite. When Henry is munching a snack, Mudge tags along because he wants some too. He tries getting on Henry's lap, licking his head and any other trick he can think of. Henry keeps saying No! His final tricks win Henry over and off they head to the kitchen where Henry gets a cracker for Mudge. Mudge loves crackers and now both of them are happy enjoying a snack. One line per page with colorful drawings make this a perfect introduction to reading. The amusing pictures of puppy Mudge slobbering and drooling and doing anything he can to get his snack will remind kids of some of their behaviors. A Pre-level 1 book in the "Ready-to-Read" series aimed at kids who need word repetition, familiar words and phrases and simple sentences. 2003, Simon & Schuster, Ages 3 to 5.
