School Library Journal

Gr 10 Up-The field of reproductive technology is relatively new in the grand scope of medicine. Zach provides a chronology of assisting infertile couples, discusses many of the options available to individuals, and explores the future of the current technologies, as well as the ethical implications of their use. For students studying ethics or science, this book will provide concise, clear information for reports. The chapter on male infertility is important, since it sometimes seems that most of the research and writing focuses on the female aspect. Average-quality, black-and-white photos and a textbook look limit the book's visual appeal, but teens will find understandable, complete explanations for their assignments or clarification if there are fertility issues within their families.-Lynn Evarts, Sauk Prairie High School, Prairie du Sac, WI Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
